Meet Dr. Thy Dinh, D.C

Understanding the Impact of Chiropractic

Chiropractor San Diego, Dr. Thy DinhThe path to chiropractic started early for Dr. Thy. At age 3, she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Her parents were unsure about putting their young daughter on medications and hoped for a better solution. With a chiropractor in the family, they made the difficult decision to send their daughter 3000 miles away to New Orleans, where she could live with her chiropractor uncle and try natural health care.

There, Dr. Thy got healthier and her symptoms dissipated. Before she was 10, she knew that she wanted to be a chiropractor growing up. Living with this vitalistic approach taught her about different theories of healing, and she knew she wanted to follow in her uncle’s footsteps.

Gaining Knowledge Within Natural Healing

While earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Concordia University, Dr. Thy gained valuable experience in athletic care. Her interest in how the human body works was stoked, and she went on to Southern California University of Health Sciences to obtain a Doctor of Chiropractic. There, she began studying Applied Kinesiology and was introduced to many ideas within Oriental Medicine, the principles of which can be applied in her practice today.

“My greatest accomplishment is helping people overcome challenges they’ve been dealing with for years. When I see the light in their eyes and smile on their face that shows how much they’ve improved, it’s a small miracle. For those who have been suffering, the results are tremendous.”

Helping Moms, Kids and Entire Families

Dr. Thy is certified in the Webster Technique, has completed over 100 hours of study in Applied Kinesiology and is working toward accreditations with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and Functional Medicine. Her postgraduate studies also include whole foods nutritional therapy, which she incorporates into her care at Shui Chiropractic & Wellness.

As a chiropractor, Dr. Thy has an immense passion for health, vitality and life. She feels fortunate to indulge her passion by working with pregnant moms, babies and children. “If I can contribute in any way to leaving this world a better place, it’s through working with the next generation. Instilling healthy habits in kids and assisting their ability to reach developmental milestones is how I can contribute.” She especially enjoys nurturing each person as a whole being and is interested in working with expecting moms, newborns and children.

Leading a Busy, Active Life

A mom of two young boys, Dr. Thy’s life can get a little hectic sometimes. Her family lives the chiropractic lifestyle by eating well, getting adjusted and being active. She enjoys doing things that help her children learn and discover more about the world. Personally, she likes to read and spend time in nature, hiking when she gets the opportunity. Exercise gives her energy and fuels her to keep going with her busy life. She also loves to travel and eat. Her top criteria are that a dish should be healthy, homemade and slow cooked. With Vietnamese heritage, she enjoys making and eating pho, one of her favorite dishes.
